Most of us will suffer from foot problems at some point in our lives. Even if we eat right, exercise, and wear comfortable shoes, our feet may sustain minor injuries that can become chronic ones if not addressed. According to medical professionals, people often ignore nagging foot issues because they are so common.  What they may not realize, however, is that some problems are merely symptoms of a more serious issues that could be corrected if identified early. You can protect your tootsies by heeding the following advice:

  1. Stay away from tight shoes! Ladies, we’re talking to you right now. As important as fashion may be, high heels and other footwear that puts undue pressure on your heel and toes can seriously damage your feet.
  2. Wear ankle braces when playing sports! Any activity that requires constant side-to-side movement and/or jumping increases the risk of ankle sprains.  This includes sports like soccer, football, tennis, and basketball.
  3. Sit down!  Achy feet are often caused by simply being on your feet or standing around for protracted periods of time. Our feet were honestly not designed for overuse, especially when paired with the wrong shoes.
